Background of Tim Goddard

Tim Goddard is not a newcomer to public service. With over a decade of experience in local governance, he has developed a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Collierville. His journey began as a community volunteer, where he quickly recognized the importance of active participation in local affairs.

Education and Early Career

Goddard holds a Master's degree in Business Administration. His academic background laid the foundation for his career in business and local government, where he has worked in various capacities, including municipal management, planning and community outreach. This experience has equipped him with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of town governance.

Community Involvement

Beyond his professional qualifications, Goddard is deeply rooted in the Collierville community. He has served on the planning commission and has been a board member of the Salvation Army of the Mid-South. His dedication to community service has earned him the respect and trust of many residents.

Vision for Collierville

My campaign is focused on keeping Collierville safe, financially responsible, well-managed, and true to its small-town character. These priorities reflect a commitment to practical leadership, strong public services, and decisions that put residents first.

Public Safety

  • Support strong policing and ensure our local police force has the resources it needs.

  • Maintain strong fire protection and fully support Collierville firefighters.

Taxes and Responsible Budgeting

  • Avoid taking advantage of windfall property tax proceeds caused by upward adjustments in property values.

  • Practice common-sense, responsible budgeting and treat taxpayer dollars with the same care as personal finances.

  • Live within our means while funding essential town services responsibly.

Property Rights, Zoning, and Growth

  • Uphold private property rights while enforcing zoning and land-use rules fairly and consistently.

  • Support balanced growth that preserves Collierville’s safe, small-town character.

  • Support a moratorium on new apartment developments.

  • Limit legal and lawsuit costs by following legal counsel and established law when making land-use decisions.

Economic Development

  • Attract quality businesses, including small businesses that strengthen Collierville’s character and local economy.

Infrastructure and Accountability

  • Improve streets through more permanent repairs, overlays, and long-term maintenance planning.

  • Seek public input on infrastructure improvements, including road diets, sidewalks, timely repairs, and related projects.

  • Hold developers and contractors accountable to town standards and penalize non-performance, including delayed road closures, stalled projects, and poorly maintained development sites.

Transparency and Public Input

  • Encourage robust, transparent debate before major decisions are made.

  • Provide ample opportunity for public input in decision-making and public policy design.

Education and Youth Development

  • Investing in education is crucial for the future of Collierville.

  • Support Local Schools: Collaborating with school districts to enhance educational programs and facilities.

  • After-School Programs: Expanding access to after-school activities that promote learning and personal development for youth
